Changes since 1.1
Since version 1.1, when the software moved online, bugs and changes have been managed on my Mantis server.
New in version 1.1
- wxWidgets GUI dropped, in favour of moving the script to the web. The script now runs silently, generating an “output.html” file containing the results.
- Although designed to be run as a cron job, the .py script can be run from a user’s browser to update the results manually.
New in version 1.0
- Re-coded the GUI in wxWidgets instead of Tcl/Tk.
- The app now works out for itself how many players to consider, weighing up accuracy of results against run time.
- Now available as a stand-alone executable for Windows.
- This is the last version that is available as a self-contained GUI app. If you would like to download this older version, you can get it here (16MB Windows executable). The Windows application requires MSVCR71.dll to be installed on your system. If the application does not start, get the DLL from here and put it in the same directory as teampicker.exe. Source code for the offline version can be downloaded here (uses Python 2.5 and wxPython 2.8).
New in version 0.7−20090421
Fixed an issue where the “£” sign wasn’t being stripped off the prices when using a saved “export.html”. Updated the link to this page. Re-licenced as GPL v3 (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html).
New in version 0.6−20081117
Now scrapes the TFF website for player data automatically. For offline use, you can save an HTML dump of the “Player Points” page as export.html in the same directory as the script. CSV files are no longer required.
New in version 0.5−20081114
Updated to accept CSV files in the “Player Points” layout used in the 08–09 season. No more re-ordering columns! See the new Data.csv for an example.
New in version 0.4−20080419
Now with extra fun things that almost made me wish I’d studied Computer Science, courtesy of the Man with the Knees himself, Mrs. Mark Harris!
New in version 0.3−20080418
A GUI! Object-orientation! Error-trapping! Slightly amusing error messages! Guaranteed 100% superlicious!
New in version 0.2−20080410
